California Moonshine!

If you let this sit long enough it will ferment in to alcohol. I think it’s much better to let it “brew” for 4 days and then add the alcohol.

I love it with a little vodka and Prosecco. Kind of a Spritz. You don’t have to add alcohol. You can just mix with club soda for a refreshing summer drink.

Don’t throw the fruit away when you strain it off. It is great over ice cream or I stir it in to salsa.

Peach Sage Shrub

This is an excellent Summer drink. You can use up fruit with this recipe. It can be served with or without alcohol. Try different fruit/herb combinations.

  • 1 Mason Jar


  • 2 Tbs. Chopped Fresh Sage
  • 1 Cup Granulated White Sugar
  • 1 Cup Fresh Peaches, Cut into 1/2" chunks
  • 1 Cup White Balsamic Vinegar


  • Using the back of a heavy spoon, or a potato masher, muddle the herbs, fruit and sugar together, in a large mason jar.
    Add in the vinegar and stir gently.
    Place in refrigerator for at least 2 days. Give it a shake whenever you open your fridge.
  • When ready to serve, strain the fruit/herbs out (SAVE THEM!).
    Pour one ounce of the shru, over ice, in to glass and top with seltzer or club soda. You can add a shot of whatever alcohol you'd like.
    Garnish with more Sage and serve cold.
  • The fruit is really good served over ice cream or mixed in to a fresh salsa.
