Copycat PF Changs Lettuce Wraps

PF Chang’s lettuce wraps are some of my family’s favorites. I had to figure out a copy recipe to make at home. I think this one is really good. I like that the meat can be changed up.

If you want you can add some julienne of carrots and more green onions. Let me know what you think!

Chicken Lettuce Wraps

An easy weeknight dinner or snack.
Course: Beginnings, Middles
Cuisine: American, Chinese
Keyword: chicken, lettuce, wraps
Servings: 6 wraps

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbs. Sesame Oil
  • 1 lb. Baby Bella Mushrooms, cleaned and chopped
  • 1 lb. Ground Chicken, turkey or beef
  • 1 bunch Scallions, chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced, you can use frozen
  • 2 Tbs. Minced Ginger, You can use frozen
  • 2 Tbs. Low Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 2 tsp. Sriracha, or more
  • 1 can water chestnuts, chopped
  • 6 leaves Butter lettuce or other that works for wraps
  • 6 tsp. Mama Teavs Hot Garlic

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a large sauce pan.
Add mushrooms and let cook for 3-4 minutes until liquid start to release from mushrooms.
Add chicken (or other ground meat) and break up to mix in with mushrooms.
Cook until lightly browned. Season with a generous pinch of kosher salt and fresh ground pepper.
  • Stir in green onions and garlic, then ginger.
At this point you will have substantial liquid. I remove about 2 tablespoons of hot liquid and mix with 1 tsp. cornstarch. Stir until smooth then add back into meat mixture.
I add the water chestnuts last. Then I make sure everything is well incorporated.
  • Serve with open lettuce leaves, extra soy sauce, sriracha and a tsp. of mama tears on each wrap.
