Peach Ice Cream

Fresh Peach Ice Cream

In the summer time there is nothing better than fresh ice cream. Especially, right now when we are breaking records for heat.

There are many recipes for ice cream but I wanted one that was no cook. So this was the best option. Because it is a good basic, this recipe lends itself to variations.  I used peaches but really any fresh produce will work. I would recommend that you stick to soft fruits.

As winter gets closer, you can skip the fruit and add little more vanilla, for a traditional vanilla ice cream. You can also add crushed peppermint candy and a drop of peppermint oil for a fun holiday flavor.

Course: Endings, Everything Else
Cuisine: American
Keyword: ice cream, Peaches
Servings: 0

Equipment

  • Ice Cream Freezer and churn

Ingredients

  • 2-1/2 lbs. Fresh Peaches, peeled and chopped
  • 2 Cups Half & Half
  • 1-14 oz Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1-14 oz Can Evaporated Milk
  • 1-1/2 tsp. Vanilla
  • Whole Milk, as needed

Instructions

  • Using either a food processor or blender, puree the chopped peaches. Reserve some for adding into the ice cream. I work in batches.
  • Add ice cream mix to your ice cream maker. Again you may have to work in batches. If you have a large ice cream maker, you may need to add whole milk to fill the vessel.
  • Follow the instructions from your ice cream maker. The ice cream will come to a soft serve consistency.
Once it is to this point, turn into the container you will store it in.
Place in freezer. It should be ready to go in 2 hours.
Once it has frozen over night it will be hard. make sure you give yourself a few minutes to let the ice cream soften slightly before serving.
