Honey Mustard Pretzel Chicken

Honey Mustard Pretzel Chicken

I am always looking for ways to eliminate food waste. It is certainly a hot topic these days and we can all do our part.

Who hasn’t gone to the pantry looking for a snack and found a bag of chips or pretzels that is nothing but crumbs. This recipe is a great way to use those crumbs up. I used honey mustard pretzel pieces; but you can use whatever you have leftover.

How do you try to eliminate food waste in your home?

  • 1 Cup Flour, seasoned with salt & pepper
  • 2 Lg. Eggs, lightly whisked
  • 1 Cup Crushed Honey Mustard Pretzels

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
This recipe is based on a simple 3-step dredge; Flour, then egg, then crushed pretzels. Place each in 3 shallow bowls, for dredging.
Take your chicken out of the package and pat dry. You do not need to wash it but the drier it is the better everything will adhere to it.
Line a baking sheet with parchment or tin foil (Less cleaning).
  • Take each chicken piece and coat lightly with flour. Tap off excess.
Dip same piece in egg wash and let excess drip off.
Finally, coat each piece in crushed pretzel pieces and place on baking sheet.
  • Bake at 350° for 20 - 30 minutes.
Serve with extra honey mustard dressing. for dipping. I also like to drizzle it with hot honey!
